Beard removal seems to be a recurring theme in this week’s Best of the Web, but it’s not necessarily all bad. Duck Dynasty’s Jase Robertson shaved his beard after his daughter’s foundation, Mia Moo, raised $100,000 to help children with cleft lips and palates. Robertson did away with his beard on Facebook Live, completely shocking friends and family who hadn’t seen him without a beard for seven years.
Meanwhile, in Edmonton, Canada, a man named Stan Standing shaved his beard with an electric trimmer – all par for the course until you realize he did it 10,000 feet in the air while skydiving. Like Robertson, Standing did the stunt for charity. We’re just glad he used a trimmer rather than a straight razor, which would have taken this story down a much different road.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, men who have grown their beards for years – some even decades – with absolutely no plans of shaving pitted their epic beards against one another at the 2017 World Beard and Moustache Championships. If you’ve ever thought about entering a beard competition or doing something impressively wacky for Halloween, you need to check out the winners’ photos.
For everyday beard styling, though, we’ve got you covered. If your beard veers more towards short-to-medium length, the type of facial hair that looks best on you is determined by your face shape. Check out our guide for your sickest beard yet.
