The first day of fall is this Thursday, and we’ve got our sights set on the mountains. If you’re planning on going on a nice, long hike like we are or even a weekend getaway, you’re going to need a tough backpack that can withstand some wear and tear.
Herschel Supply Co.’s Little America Backpack is a modern take on mountaineering style. While it’s crafted to withstand the longest hikes and expeditions, this backpack is also equipped with functionality that makes it a sturdy standby for students or just guys on the go.
Open it up and you’ll find a laptop sleeve, a media pocket with headphone port, and a key fob in the front pocket. The adjustable drawstring closure makes for frill-free packing and unloading. Plus, we like the contoured shoulder straps, which stay comfortable even hours into the trail.

But we’re especially digging its construction – a tough woven shell cut long and slim for a clean look, toughened up by faux leather straps and metal buckles. Red-and-white striped interior fabric lining – Herschel’s signature – throws it back to Herschel Supply Co.’s heritage roots.

A short history of Herschel Supply Co.
Canadian brothers Jamie and Lyndon Cormack founded Herschel Supply Co. in 2009. The brothers named the company after Herschel, Saskatchewan, the small town where they grew up.
Their great-grandparents left Scotland in 1906 to settle in Herschel, giving way to three generations of Cormacks, all of whom resided in the town. Today, Herschel's population rings in at a minute 23.
When designing the Herschel Supply Co. logo, Jamie and Lyndon imagined the types of shops and signs that would have been in the town when their great-grandparents first arrived. As a result, "Herschel" is hand-drawn, "Trade Mark" is sewn imperfectly, and the logo resembles a general store sign.
